Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 14.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 968,616 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,763 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,078 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 966,990 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15% increase compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.9 % while lignite plants comprised 13.9%.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 15,293 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,109 megawatt-hours.
