Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3% to 712,322 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 32,888 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,055 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 705,481 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with an 3.6% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 175,851 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 155,001 megawatt-hours and 124,199 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,390 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,231 megawatt-hours.
