Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.55% on Thursday compared to the previous day, reaching 945,718 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,681 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,972 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 951,430 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 2.44% increase from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 39.21% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 14.22 % share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 12.58%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,551 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,941 megawatt-hours.
