Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Sunday by 2.30% compared to the previous day to 702,096 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 34,342 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,938 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 703,828 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 2.01% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 180,008 megawatt-hours. Natural gas plants and wind followed with 121,962 megawatt-hours and 106,930 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,762 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 6,030 megawatt-hours.
