Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.92% to 715,195 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,845 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,968 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 709,287 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 1.99% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 220,944 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and imported coal plants followed with 117,331 megawatt-hours and 108,748 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,384 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,293 megawatt-hours.
