Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.62% to 806,716 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 38,486 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to its daily lowest point of 26,615 megawatt-hours at 04.00.
Total electricity production reached 808,737 megawatt-hours on Monday, with a 15.59% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 190,720 megawatt-hours.
Hydroelectricity plants and natural gas followed with 166,794 megawatt-hours and 158,341 megawatt-hours, respectively.
Also on Monday, Turkey’s electricity exports were at 5,972 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 3,951 megawatt-hours.
