Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.35% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 906,839 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,049 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,218 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 913,138 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14.26% rise from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 42.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 15.5% while lignite plants comprised 14.7%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,738 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,564 megawatt-hours.
