Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.52% to 651,878 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 31,980 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,738 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 647,246 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 8.53% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 203,896 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and imported coal plants followed with 112,877 megawatt-hours and 98,507 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,552 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,184 megawatt-hours.
