Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Friday by 1.83% compared to the previous day to reach 929,191 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 42,695 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,343 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 932,322 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.81% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.27% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Friday, hydroelectricity power plants held a share of 20.10% and the share of imported coal was 21.19%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,065 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,934 megawatt-hours.
