Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 12.66% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 702,427 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 00.00 local time, reaching 32,285 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,595 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 708,437 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 12.58% decrease from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 15.9%, while lignite plants held a 16% share.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,909 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,744 megawatt-hours.
