Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 928,480 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,899 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,221 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 937,725 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.9% decrease from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 41.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 15.3% while lignite plants comprised 14%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,736 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,771 megawatt-hours.
