Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.64% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 884,778 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 43,295 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,806 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 893,583 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.47% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 22.6% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 15.4%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,439 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 634 megawatt-hours.
