Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 902,280 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 42,468 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,256 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 909,175 megawatt-hours on Wednesday marking an 0.5% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.6% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, imported coal plants held a 21.6% share while hydro power plants comprised 19.3%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,977 megawatt-hours while imports reached 82 megawatt-hours.
