Turkey's first floating LNG storage and gasification vessel (FSRU), Ertugrul Gazi, arrived in Turkey, according to the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez on Thursday.
Donmez wrote on his Twitter account that the ship anchored at the port in Dortyol in Turkey's southernmost province of Hatay following its certification.
'Our ship, which will be commissioned after testing, will contribute to the natural gas supply security of our country,' he said.
The FSRU vessel, Ertugrul Gazi, is one of the three in the country, that will joining another in Hatay.
Ertugrul Gazi, owned by Turkey’s state-owned crude oil and natural gas pipelines company, Botas, will connect to facilities in Hatay by the New Year to come onstream.
The vessel has an LNG storage capacity of 170 thousand cubic meters, equivalent to 102 million cubic meters in gas form.
