Norway's total sales of petroleum products fell 12% to 635 million liters in August compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Norway on Tuesday.
For gasoline sales, the statistics office said the volume increased by 2 million liters.
Sales of diesel amounted to 255 million liters - a fall of 6 million liters compared to August last year.
The country's statistics authority has produced data collated from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies since 1973.
