Nordex wins new wind orders totalling 248 MW in Turkey

- Company installed more than 2.03 gigawatts of wind capacity since 2007

The Nordex Group has received new orders from Turkey totaling 248 megawatts (MW), the company announced Wednesday.

The German wind turbine manufacturer confirmed the Nordex Group had installed more than 2.03 gigawatts (GW) of wind capacity since entering the Turkish market in 2007, representing a market share of almost 27%.

For Boydak Enerji, the company will supply wind turbines for the 110.8 MW Omerli wind farm to be built near Istanbul and the Sibel wind project with a total capacity of 80.9 MW in the Aegean region between Izmir and Manisa.

'Since 2013, Boydak Enerji has been using turbines from the Nordex Group in the Canta RES wind farm. By once again opting for our technology, as well as for our latest turbine generation, our partner has shown that our turbines meet its expectations,' Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group, was quoted as saying.

The Nordex Group said a utility company has also ordered wind turbines with a rated capacity of 4.8 MW for a 67 MW wind farm in the Marmara region in addition to these two contracts.

Boydak Holding, a vertically integrated manufacturing, retailing and financial enterprise based in Turkey, operates in eight sectors with 35 companies including energy.

The Nordex Group has installed more than 25 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets and in 2018 generated revenues of around €2.5 billion.
