GE to supply equipment for 158 MW wind farms in Turkey

- LM Wind Power, part of GE Renewable Energy company, will produce 147 blades for wind energy projects

GE Renewable Energy will supply wind turbines for five onshore wind farms in Turkey, GE announced on Wednesday.

As part of the agreement, LM Wind Power, part of the GE Renewable Energy company, will produce the 147 blades for the wind turbines of 3 megawatts of capacity.

With a total capacity of 158 megawatts, the Kirazli project in Izmir, the Meryem project in Bilecik Sile, the Mahmut Sevket projects in Istanbul, and the Pamukova project in Sakarya will provide enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 183,000 homes.

'GE’s high-tech 3 megawatt platform turbines are well suited to Turkey’s wind speeds and landscape,' said Manar al-Moneef, GE Renewable Energy’s onshore wind regional leader.
