Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.2% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 856,899 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,135 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,051 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 864,936 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.66% of total electricity consumption on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 20.45% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 17.01%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,419 megawatt-hours while imports reached 383 megawatt-hours.
