Turkey's daily power consumption up 5.1% on April 15

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 5,193 megawatt-hours, while imports total 4,333 megawatt-hours on Wednesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 5.1% to 661,747 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 31,739 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,356 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 662,606 megawatt-hours on Wednesday with a 4.9% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 201,179 megawatt-hours. Wind and run-of-river plants followed with 107,773 megawatt-hours and 95,675 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,193 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,333 megawatt-hours.
