Turkey's daily power consumption up 3.24% on Dec. 24

- Turkey's electricity exports total 1,687 megawatt-hours while imports amount to 11,790 megawatt-hours on Tuesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.24% to 849,635 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 40,499 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,105 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 839,532 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, with a 3.25% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 206,997 megawatt-hours.

Natural gas and lignite plants followed with 206,033 megawatt-hours and 138,778 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,687 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 11,790 megawatt-hours.
