Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.18% on Sep. 1

- Turkey’s electricity exports amount to 9,495 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 2,428 megawatt-hours on Tuesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.18% to 776,505 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,195 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 27,015 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production totaled 783,572 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.86% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 203,121 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and hydroelectricity followed with 200,557 megawatt-hours and 146,754 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Tuesday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 9,495 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 2,428 megawatt-hours.
