Turkey's daily power consumption up 15% on Oct. 21

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 8,369 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 5,504 megawatt-hours on Monday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.2% to 737,268 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 37,120 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 23,898 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production totaled 740,132 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15.1% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from coal imports totaling 201,109 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and lignite followed with 131,981 megawatt-hours and 131,772 megawatt-hours, respectively.
