A Turkish energy company, Humartas Yapı Enerji, along with European investment partners, plans to invest $275 million in projects with a total capacity of 300 megawatts.
The company developed various renewable energy projects last year and plans to get the projects online in 2016, the company's CEO Cihad Terzioglu told Anadolu Agency on Sunday.
Investors prefer Turkey over a narrowing European energy market, Terzioglu claimed and added that the Turkish renewable energy market offers encouraging incentives and advantages to foreign investors.
In that respect, he expressed desire to bring further investments into the country.
The solar and wind electricity generation projects are planned for various cities in Turkey such as Afyonkarahisar, Kirsehir, Karaman, Malatya, Adiyaman, Bitlis, Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa, Terzioglu said.
Capital for the projects is to come from private equity funds and energy investment funds originating from European countries.
For the solar energy projects, some panel producers also provide additional funds, he noted.
'As an indicator of Turkey's potential in the renewable energy sector, European investors show solid interest in a wide range of cities for their energy opportunities,' Terzioglu added.
