TotalEnergies inks deal supply Google data centers with renewable power for 15 years

- Nearly completed solar facility, connected to largest US grid system to supply power to Google's data center operations in Ohio

TotalEnergies has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with Google to supply 1.5 terawatt-hours of certified renewable electricity from its Montpelier solar farm in Ohio, the French oil major announced on Wednesday.

The nearly completed solar facility, connected to the PJM grid system, the largest in the US, will supply power to Google's data center operations in Ohio, the componay said in a statement.

The deal reflects Google's strategy to add new carbon-free energy to the grid systems where it operates and aligns with TotalEnergies' plan to provide customized energy solutions for data centers, which accounted for nearly 3% of global energy demand in 2024, the statement added.
