Turkish Energy Trading Market to be introduced at ICCI 2015

- New Turkish Energy Trading Market will be launched at the International Energy, Environment and Fair and Conference, sponsored by The Anadolu Agency,

21st International Energy, Environment Fair and Conference, ICCI 2015, sponsored by The Anadolu Agency, will see the launch of the new Turkish Energy Stock Market.  

The Turkish Energy Stock Market, initials EPIAS, will begin trading in the electricity sector, including a wholesale, emissions market and financial settlement activities. 

There will be four special presentations and 36 sessions during the ICCI 2015 conference starting on May, 6 and ending on May, 8. The launch of EPIAS will be held in a session called 'EPIAS: Expectations, Targets, Priorities' with the participation of the head of EPIAS, Huseyin Savas and other board members of EPIAS. Additionally, Fatih Birol, head of the International Energy Agency will deliver a speech at the conference. 

- International companies to meet at ICCI 2015

Around 450 international energy companies from 53 countries including America, China, Hollande, India, Germany will meet at the conference, which is supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the Energy Market Regulatory Authority. Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz will also attend as well as other actors in the energy sector and representatives from universities and non-governmental organizations. 

 Alexander Kuhnel, president of Hannover Fairs Turkey, said that the events industry in Turkey is growing in pace with the growth of the energy sector. 

General Director of Sectoral Fairs Suleyman Budak underlined the importance of the developing energy sector in Turkey. 'When we started organizing ICCI in 1994, there was no regulator institution dedicated to the entire energy sector. All energy-related events were being held by the Turkish Electricity Institution, a state institution.

Turkey's installed capacity in 1994 was 20.860 megawatts, but it reached to 69.570 megawatts by the end of 2014. 

He also stated that this year's fair will be rich in terms of new technologies and environmentalist technology.
