Turkish Electricity Transmission Company has started a public consultation process to integrate some of the country's electricity regulations to fit with those of the EU.

The project, jointly financed by Turkey and the EU, calls for feedback of the players in the electricity sector through workshops, the first of which took place on Nov. 14. The second workshop will run on Dec. 10 to 12 and the final one will be held on Jan. 5, 2015.

Turkish Electricity Transmission Company is carrying out the project in partnership with RTE International of France - a subsidiary of the French electricity transmission system operator, Belgium's system operator - ELIA System Operator and FICHTNER of Germany.

The regulations to be changed involve market regulations on transmission, distribution, import and export, stabilization, arbitration, ancillary services, line capacity appropriation and tender rules between the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company and neighboring transmission system operators.
