Turkey's energy watchdog grants 17 new licenses

- Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority granted licenses to 17 energy companies, while cancelling five licenses

Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority licensed seventeen energy companies, while cancelling five licenses, according to the official gazette published on Wednesday.

Turkey's watchdog, EMRA, gave six licenses for electricity generation and one license for electricity supply and two electricity generation licenses were cancelled.

In the natural gas sector, two licenses were given for the sale of compressed natural gas, CNG. Two transmission and distribution licenses for CNG and one license for wholesale natural gas were also granted.

In the oil sector, one license for mineral oil and one storage license for oil were given, while three licenses were cancelled by the authority in the same sector.

Additionally, EMRA licensed two companies for liquefied petroleum gas, LPG storage and one company for LPG distribution.
