Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.63% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 940,342 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,681 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,003 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 943,350 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.66% increase compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.4% while wind power plants comprised 14.2%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,003 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 8,432 megawatt-hours.
