Mustafa Yilmaz is appointed president of Turkey's energy regulating authority (EMRA) in an announcement in the official government gazette on Thursday.
Yilmaz who has been an EMRA board member since 2004 was appointed after a decision by the council of ministers.
Yilmaz is the third president of the corporation. EMRA's presidents are appointed for six years. Prior to this position Yılmaz worked as an attorney.
EMRA was established in 2001.The top energy regulating authority EMRA, gives the licenses for oil, gas, solar, wind companies in the country and its core responsibility is to regulate energy, oil, natural gas, electricity, petroleum and LPG markets in Turkey.
