Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4.9% to 542,397 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 28,257 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 18,631 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 542,166 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 5.2% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 172,151 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and imported coal plants followed with 107,065 megawatt-hours and 89,627 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,343 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,573 megawatt-hours.
