Türkiye's oil imports up 14.3% in March 2022

- Crude oil imports jump 11.2% to 2.66 million tons, latest data shows

Türkiye's total oil imports increased by 14.3% to 3.86 million tons in March 2022, according to data released by the country's energy watchdog on Thursday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 11.2% in March to 2.66 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

In March, Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Iraq, totaling 1.25 million tons. Russia and Kazakhstan followed with 974,881 tons and 586,434 tons, respectively.

Oil refinery product exports increased by 71.6% to 1.09 million tons, while output also rose by 13.5% to 3.12 million tons in March.

Total domestic oil product sales fell by 10.1% year on year in March to 2.24 million tons.
