Türkiye's oil imports down 10.4% in May

- Crude oil imports fall by 13.2% to 2.48 million tons in May, latest data shows

​​​​​​Türkiye's total oil imports decreased by 10.4% to 3.97 million tons in May compared to the same month in 2024, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Monday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, fell by 13.2% in May to 2.48 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

Türkiye imported the majority of its crude oil and oil product needs from Russia in May, totaling 2.51 million tons. Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan followed with 352,023 tons and 253,739 tons, respectively.

Total exports in the oil market decreased by 17.5%, reaching 1.28 million tons.

Additionally, total domestic oil product sales increased by 7.2% year-over-year in May to 2.93 million tons.
