Turkish gasoline prices dropped by an average of 0.06 liras per liter at midnight on Wednesday.

In the Turkish capital Ankara, 95-octane unleaded gasoline will be sold between 4.10-4.11 liras per liter, while prices dropped to 4.08-4.09 liras in Istanbul and to 4.11 and 4.12 liras in Izmir.

The price of gasoline was 5.14 per liter on average in June, and fell 20 percent since then, due to the steep decline in crude oil prices.

Oil prices have fallen almost 60 percent in the last seven months, their fastest dive since 2008, due to oversupply and low oil demand in the world's markets.

The global benchmark Brent crude oil price dipped below $46 per barrel on Tuesday, creating a new record low since March 2009.
