Turkey's petrochemical giant Petkim grows by 17 pct.

The assets of Turkey's petrochemical giant Petkim's reached 3.79 billion Turkish liras with a 17 percent growth in 2014, the company said in a written statement Monday.

According to the statement, the company made a gross profit of 94 million TL during the same period, while the turnover was 4.13 billion TL.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was recorded at 111.4 million TL in 2014.

The company's net profit stayed at the 8.7 million level due to maintenance work and capacity investments. Also the statement said that the company's exports amounted to $563.5 million in 2014. 

'With new investments, the company's gross production capacity increased by 13 percent,' said Sadettin Korkut, the general director of the company in a statement.
