Italian oil and gas engineering contractor Saipem was awarded offshore engineering and construction (E&C) contracts in Azerbaijan, the North Sea and the Republic of Congo, the company announced Monday.
The overall value of the contracts is approximately $400 million, according to the company's press release.
In Azerbaijan, French oil company Total has awarded a Subsea Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines (SURF) to a consortium of Saipem’s subsidiary, Saipem Contracting Netherlands BV, Boshelf LLC and STAR GULF FZCO, for the development of the Absheron field at a water depth between 10 meters an 500 meters.
The Joint Operating Company Absheron Petroleum (JOCAP) operates the field located under the Caspian Sea. JOCAP is a joint venture between TOTAL Exploration and Production Absheron and SOCAR Absheron each holding 50 percent shares, the press release said.
'The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation, assistance to commissioning and to performance testing of a 12 inches single production flowline and its Flowline End Termination structure and of a main umbilical, both being approximately 34 kilometers in length,' the press release said.
The company also announced that Humberside Gathering System Limited, on behalf of the Tolmount Development Partners (Premier Oil and Dana Petroleum) a contract for pipeline engineering, procurement, construction and installation also assigned works for the development of the Tolmount Main gas field, located in the Southern North Sea.
Thirdly, Saipem, through its subsidiary Boscongo SA, has been awarded a modification, maintenance and operations contract by Eni Congo SA for the provision of maintenance services, modifications and improvements on all Eni Congo offshore sites in the Republic of Congo over a 36-month period.
According to the press release, the scope of work includes on-site maintenance activities, such as troubleshooting, planned and unplanned maintenance as well as the supply of spare parts, materials and workshop activities at Boscongo yard in Pointe Noire, the second biggest city of Congo on the Atlantic coast.
