Murat Yazici resigned from Genel Energy

Genel Energy, one of the biggest oil companies operating in northern Iraq, announced Monday that Murat Yazici has resigned as non-executive director of the company. 

He held this position since November 2011. 

Yazici has practiced in energy industry for more than forty years. He advised on corporate law, international commercial arbitrations, privatizations and finance transactions in various sectors. 

Between 1974 and 1989, Yazici held in-house legal and managerial positions at Royal Dutch Shell, Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and the U.S. energy giant ExxonMobil. 

While practicing, he taught corporate law at Middle East Technical University in Turkish capital Ankara. He lectured at graduate level seminars on oil and gas law in Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

Yazici was the founding chairman and advisor to Petroleum Platform Association (PETFORM). He is also a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, International Bar Association and Turkish-Swiss Businessmen Association.
