Türkiye's natural gas imports increased by 3.9% in December 2025 compared to the same month of 2024, according to data from Türkiye's energy watchdog.
Natural gas imports in December 2025 rose to around 7.65 billion cubic meters (bcm), up from approximately 7.36 bcm in December 2024, Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly natural gas market report.
Russia was the largest natural gas supplier to Türkiye, providing 2.30 bcm, while Azerbaijan and Iran followed with 1.08 bcm and 576 million cubic meters (mcm), respectively.
During the period, Türkiye imported 2.32 bcm of LNG from the US, followed by 480 mcm from Algeria, 201 mcm from Angola, 189 mcm from Nigeria, and 104 mcm from Senegal, 102 mcm from Equatorial Guinea, 102 mcm from Trinidad and Tobago, 101 mcm from Cameroon, and 94 mcm from Egypt.
Meanwhile, the country's total gas consumption declined by 8.3% to approximately 6.38 bcm in December 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.
Industrial natural gas consumption rose slightly by 0.4% to 1.27 bcm. Gas use at power plants increased by 13.4%, reaching 1.58 bcm.
Household consumption fell significantly, declining by 21.3% to 2.42 bcm during the same period.
The natural gas storage volume in December 2025 increased to around 5.21 bcm, compared to 4.95 bcm in December 2024.
