Turkey's natural gas imports fell by 10.4% in July compared to the same month of 2019, according to the Turkish energy watchdog's data.
Imports decreased to 3.26 billion cubic meters (bcm) in July from 3.64 bcm in July 2018, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly natural gas market report.
The country imported 2.68 bcm of natural gas via pipeline, while 0.57 bcm was purchased as LNG in July, EMRA's data shows.
Turkey's total gas consumption decreased by 23% to approx. 2.82 bcm in July this year from around 1.38 bcm in July 2019.
The amount of natural gas in storage decreased by nearly 28% to 2.29 bcm this July from 3.66 bcm in July last year.
Gas production increased to 37.1 million cubic meters (mcm) over the same period, up from 35.5 mcm in July 2018.
