Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 730,464 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 34,564 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,997 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 728,414 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.8% decrease from Saturday.
While Turkey's electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25.3% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants held a 16.9% share, while wind plants comprised 14.9%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,635 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,176 megawatt-hours.
