Saipem secures new drilling contracts worth €150 mln.

- Saipem has been awarded new contracts and contract extensions valued at €150 million, according to company's press release

Italian oil services company Saipem announced on Thursday that the company was awarded new drilling contracts and extensions to existing contracts with a cumulative value of approximately €150 million.

According to company's press release, the contracts and extensions are in Portugal, Norway, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Latin America.

Eni Portugal B.V. awarded Saipem a contract for the utilization of the 'Saipem 12000' - a sixth generation ultra-deepwater drilling ship capable of operating in water depths of over 3,000 metres. The ship will operate offshore Portugal during the third quarter of 2016, Saipem's press release read.

The company proclaimed that the contract with Eni Norge in Norway was extended to October 2017, for the Scarabeo 8 - a sixth generation semi-submersible drilling rig designed to operate in ultra-deep waters of up to 3,000 meters.

In onshore drilling, Saipem was awarded new contracts by a number of different clients relating to land drilling rigs in South America, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Morocco, the press release said.

According to Saipem, the contracts will start during 2016 with varying terms ranging from two months to two years.

Saipem conducts business in drilling services, as well as in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of pipelines and complex projects, both onshore and offshore in the oil and gas market.
