Natural gas exports of Russian energy giant Gazprom increased by 13.1% to 152.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) between Jan. 1 and Oct. 15 compared to the same period last year, according to the company's latest data released Monday.
Gazprom's production also rose by 16.6% to 399.4 bcm during the same period, the data showed.
The Russian company's exports to Romania from the beginning of January and Oct. 15 showed a massive surge of 288.6%, while exports to Turkey were up 125.3%. Exports to other EU member countries showed rises of 112.1% to Serbia, 52.7% to Bulgaria, 28.2% to Germany, 16.3% to Italy, 15.3% to Finland, 12.9% to Greece and 10% to Poland.
Oil and gas exports make up about 40% of the federal budget in Russia.
