Gazprom, Mitsui ink LNG cooperation deal

- Russia's Gazprom, Japan Bank for International Cooperation signed MoU to advance cooperation

Russian national natural gas company, Gazprom and Japanese energy trading firm, Mitsui signed a framework agreement for small and mid-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) cooperation at the Eastern Economic Forum 2017 in Russia's Pacific port city, Vladivostok on Thursday, said Gazprom.

'The document reflects the commitment of the parties to collaborate in producing, transporting and marketing small- and mid-scale LNG in Japan, as well as in LNG bunkering in the Sea of Japan,' Gazprom said in a statement.

Gazprom and Mitsui are partners in the Sakhalin II project, which is Russia's only active LNG plant.

In September 2016, Gazprom and Mitsui inked the memorandum of understanding on LNG bunkering.

- Gazprom and a JBIC signed MoU

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom and Tadashi Maeda, CEO of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) also signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing cooperation between Gazprom and JBIC at the Eastern Economic Forum 2017 in Vladivostok.

According to the statement, JBIC participated in financing the Blue Stream gas pipeline construction project and the Sakhalin II project.
