European LPG Association elects new president

- Association chooses Franesco Franchi, president of Italian LPG Association as new biennial president of European LPG Assoc.

Francesco Franchi, president of the Italian LPG Association became the President of the European LPG Association (AEGPL) late on Tuesday.

The biennial election was announced on Wednesday at the AEGPL Congress in the city of Lisbon in Portugal.

Franchi replaces former AEGPL President Paul Ladner, who was elected as the president for the two-year period in June 2015.

The newly elected president worked for Italian energy giant Eni's fuel department for six years. He was director general of Italian energy company Cam Petroli from 2004 to 2007.

Franchi was also vice president of AEGPL from May 2015 to May 2016.

AEGPL's congress started on Wednesday and will end late Thursday.

The two-day congress holds discussions on the topics of oil prices, what renewables bring to the LPG market, the rise in autogas consumption, LPG in the community and for small businesses, and the promotion of LPG solutions in an evolving policy environment.
