Around 370 kilometres of Nord Stream 2 completed

- Pipelaying vessel Audacia finishes its works in German waters, while Pioneering Spirit starts pipelaying works in Finnish exclusive economic zone

Nord Stream 2 AG, the project operator, laid about 370 kilometers of the pipeline for the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline project, the company announced on Sunday.

According to the company's statement, pipelaying vessel Audacia finished its works in German waters on Saturday.

The project is proceeding according to plan and on schedule, the company said, adding that construction works at the Russian and German landfalls are ongoing.

Moreover, pipelaying vessel Pioneering Spirit, which laid the first off-shore line of TurkStream project, has joined Nord Stream 2's construction fleet and started pipelaying works in the Finnish exclusive economic zone (EEZ) on late Saturday.

The vessel will continue the installation of the natural gas pipeline following the pipelaying vessel Solitaire, which started construction in Finland in September.

'Solitaire has moved to the southern part of the Swedish EEZ, where it will start construction of the 510-kilometre section there for the next few months,' the company said.

The Nord Stream 2, a 1,230-kilometer-long pipeline project, will carry Russian natural gas to the German and the European markets through the Baltic Sea. The pipeline will pump 55 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, enough to supply 26 million European households.
