Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) said Wednesday it has signed a 15-year agreement with IndianOil to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Under the agreement, ADNOC will deliver 1 million metric tons per year, mostly from its lower-carbon Ruwais LNG project, the state-owned energy company said in a statement.
The contract converts an earlier heads of agreement into a definitive deal.
By 2029, IndianOil is expected to be ADNOC's biggest LNG buyer, with 2.2 million metric tons a year—1.2 million from the company's Das Island operations and 1 million from the new Ruwais project.
ADNOC's Ruwais LNG project in Abu Dhabi's Al Ruwais Industrial City is scheduled to begin operations in 2028.
The company has already committed more than 8 million tons of its planned 9.6 million tons of annual output under long-term contracts.
