Anadolu Agency published an informative book on the African continent.
Titled 'Africa rising', the book consists of in-depth country analyses, interesting visuals and offers new perspectives.
The book explains Turkey's good relationship with the continent. It also attempts to analyze why Africa did not prosper despite possessing such resources as oil, diamonds, gold and uranium.
It says Africa shall rise above the effects of colonial rule such as political instability, civil war, remote administration, corruption and lack of democracy.
The book explains how African countries are working to develop politically and economically as well as socially. It describes the cultural and natural wealth of the continent and its importance to the world.
The natural resources of the continent, its geographical location, an important youth population and other factors make it an important stakeholder in the world's economy.
According to the book, geopolitical risks are decreasing in African countries, stability is increasing, the economy is growing, welfare levels and living conditions are improving.
Africa has deep historical and cultural ties with Turkey dating back to the Ottoman period, says the book. For the past 15 years, strong cultural, diplomatic economic and humanitarian ties have developed between Africa and Turkey.
In the book, African officials, politicians, and businesspeople emphasized the importance of Turkey's investments in Africa.
The book is jointly published by Anadolu Agency (AA), the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), the Turkish Diyanet Foundation (TDV), Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and Turkish Airlines (THY).
