Türkiye's energy import bill down 23.4% in May

- Country's crude oil imports decrease 17.1% compared to May 2022

Türkiye's energy import bill decreased by 23.4% to $5.32 billion in May compared to the same month of 2022, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.

The data shows that the overall import bill in May, including energy and other items, totaled $34.18 billion.

At $5.32 billion, energy accounted for 15.5% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in May.

Crude oil imports in May showed a 17.1% decline to 2.46 million tons of crude, compared to 2.97 million tons in May last year.
