Turkey privatizes Gonen hydro plant in Canakkale

- Altek Alarko Corp. win privatization tender for plant in northwestern Turkey

Altek Alarko Corp. won the tender for the privatization for a hydropower plant in Canakkale in northwestern Turkey with an installed capacity of 10.6 megawatts, Turkey's privatization administration announced Friday in Ankara.

The company won the tender for the Gonen hydro power plant with a final bid offer of 65.16 million liras.

A minimum bid offer limit was set at 10 thousand liras and the opening bid started at 64.53 million liras.

In total, 12 companies participated in the tender. After the bidding rounds, MGES Energy Production Corp. along with the winning Altek Alarko Corp. proceeded to the final bid round.

Altek Alarko Corp. is a subsidiary of Alarko Energy Group. The Energy Group takes part in energy generation, distribution and wholesale trades, and aims to provide the needed supply for the national energy demand.

US$1 equals 3.90 Turkish liras, according to Turkey's Central Bank data.
