The Scottish government is allocating £1.14 million (approx. $1.46 million) in the third round of funding to encourage the adoption of electric bikes, the government announced on Wednesday.
Funding, up to £200,000 (approx. $256,000) per application, will be available to local authorities, public sector agencies, further and higher education institutions, active travel hubs and community groups to adopt e-bikes and e-cargo bikes as more sustainable alternatives to car journeys.
"The advances in technology mean that e-bikes can provide a more sustainable alternative to single-occupancy car journeys," said Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity Michael Matheson.
A total of 45 projects and 460 e-bikes, e-cargo bikes and e-trikes were funded in the previous two rounds of the scheme.
