Oman Environmental Services Holding Company will host the International Sustainability, Resources & Technology Conference (ISRTC 2020) in Oman between Feb. 10 and 12, 2020.
The event aims to establish a platform to accelerate the deployment of cutting edge technological innovations and to achieve sustainable development goals in the transition to a circular economy.
The event will allow Oman to showcase its role as a leading force in this technological transition to a sustainable future through the diversification of the economic fabric of the country and the region.
The organizers of the ISRTC 2020 will collaborate with the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), a renowned global organization, as well as a specialist event organizer led by a number of independent and non-profit technological research institutes to organize the Global Sustainable Technology & Innovation Conference (G-STIC).
According to a press announcement released by the conference officials, Veerle Vandeweerd, director of policy of G-STIC, said, “We are more than happy to join forces with ISRTC' to accelerate the circular economy transition, which he said should be done 'radically and much faster than ever before.'
Marc Tijhuis, managing director of ISWA in the Netherlands, said that bridging the knowledge and experience gaps is a crucial step to accelerate the implementation of sustainable waste management practices globally.
'In the coming years, ISWA is looking to support even more events, which increases collaboration across waste management, academia, industry, policymaking and public sector. ISRTC 2020 is the perfect event to kick start this journey,' he said.
Said Al Shanfari, CEO of the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center (OCEC) - the official venue of ISRTC 2020, stated, 'The OCEC has been developed to stimulate knowledge exchange on a global scale by hosting such international events. We are excited to host the ISRTC 2020 and welcome everyone to Oman.'
